![]() "Gould 0738" wrote in message ... I am sitting hear reading this thread and laughing. There is no way to break down an average IQ number for the group of people in any particular state who voted for Bush or Kerry. To think you can, and to carry on a debate about it is nothing short of comical. That's not what the list is purported to represent. It represents the average IQ levels in each state. I realize that. And that is what makes this whole thread funny. Average IQ for the entire state....something suspect at best. But let's assume for a minute that the figure, the average IQ for the State, is accurate. Now lets take an example. Lets say the IQ's equally ranged from a low of 75 to a high of 125, averaging out at 100. What cannot be figured out is the average IQ of those voting for Kerry and those voting for Bush. So in a State with an average IQ of 100, and with that State going to Kerry, it is possible that the average IQ of those Kerry voters is 87...or it could be 112.. But that is absolutely impossible to determine at this point in time. Yes, some very bright people undoubtedly voted for George Bush, along with some dumb as dirt. Exactly the same thing can be said for Kerry voters. The only thing that is interesting is that the list actually does demonstrate a general tendency for the majority of voters in the states purported to have higher average IQ's to favor Kerry. No it absolutely does not. See my earlier comments. And thus my laughing at this entire thread. Sorry guys, but think for a minute what you are debating over. |

JimH,
I hope our discussion was enjoyable, and yes it was a pretty stupid discussion. "JimH" wrote in message ... "Gould 0738" wrote in message ... I am sitting hear reading this thread and laughing. What cannot be
figured out is the average IQ of those voting for Kerry and those voting for Bush. You are right. What *can* be figured out is what the average IQ is in the states where the majority of voters favored Kerry vs. the average IQ in the states where the majority of voters favored Bush. I know you want to believe that all the smart people voted Bush, and all the dumb voted Kerry, but there is no way to prove or disprove that. |

Krause started the thread insinuating the people that voted for Bush had a lower IQ. As you say, there is no proof one way or the other. Actually Chuck only realized it after I pointed it out to him.....otherwise he would still be carrying on this silly debate. |
