I was bitching about the liquor sales hours to a Connecticut store owner. He made the point that most of the owners prefer the 8pm and Sunday closings. As most of the liquor stores are Mom&Pop type operations, it was easier to staff and allowed them time off. This was several years ago, so things might have changed. That was the argument here in MA for years. When they lifted the Blue Laws, it was left up to the store owner as to opening on Sundays or not. I don't think I know of a package store anywhere in our neighborhood that stays closed now. Eisboch |
