I have done a lot of dynomometer work on outboards, unfortunately most was
on a few mercury models used for hydroplane racing. The older 50 hp 4 cyl. from late fifties to the eighties would dyno, at the motor, not prop, 40 hp. 41 hp would be rare. The 3 cyl. 65 hp, would be about 62 hp. Dixon -- "Bob La Londe" wrote in message ... I'm thinking about getting rid of my old Force 50 on the little boat and replacing it with a more modern outboard. I know that not all 50HP rated motors will develope exactly 50HP. So, whose motor is most under rated? I have enough weight in the boat that every pony under the cowling makes a difference. -- ** FREE Fishing Lures ** Weekly drawing ** Public Fishing and Boating Forums ** www.YumaBassMan.com |
