And with I/Os the opposite is true or so I've read ... e.g. my old '83 is
rated 185 hp (at the prop) ... rule of thumb ... add about 15% to get todays
"equivalent" which would be about 213 hp ... geez, who knows what the
horsepower will be in another 20 year ... 240? :-)

Older motors were rated at the powerhead. New motors are rated at the
