The speakers are tall and thin (electrostatic) and the stands are needed to prop them vertically and keep them off the wall. Over the years, the screw holes in the base have enraged, and the speakers are now a little wobbly. So, I'm going to refill and redrill the holes. Do I want to use something like plastic wood or do I want to use epoxy to fill the holes? Which would you choose and why? The filler material will not show once the speakers are re-attached tot he stands. Thanks! I would use epoxy glue to secure wooden plugs ... dowels(oak would be nice) or match sticks would work... depending on the amount of looseness. Hmmm. Thanks...I like that. A 'proper' way to do it would be to drill the wallowed out screwhole to a slightly bigger size, put some glue in the hole, then tap in an appropriate sized dowel. You more than likely don't even have to wait for the glue to set before rehanging the speakers. |
