Default Chesapeake boating/area question....

Ok. The wife and I have decided to sell our other home and buy/build a
place "around" the chesapeake. Problem is, I know NOTHING about the
chesapeake....never even been there. I'm picking it because it's close, yet
far enough away to feel like we are "away".

The ideal situation would be ground that I could purchase and maybe setup my
35' 5th wheel on until I built, but I'm not going to go through all that if
I can get a good deal on a house down there. I do NOT have to be "on the
water" but close enough to a dock/slip where I could keep my boat. I like
the area between the bay and delaware...I guess the "east" side most...that
way, we'd be close to the beach as well....

Anybody have any good suggestions to look? We are planning to take a ride
to that area and just drive around for 2 days and scope things out. I'd
like a place off the beaten path...small town close by, no telephone or
internet service either:-)

I'm looking at the area of Nanticoke river and north....Thoughts? Help?
Websites? Is there a GOOD boating map of the chesapeake I can download
somewhere?

I'm going to need some boating help as well....but that will come after I
buy one worthy of the mighty chesapeake:-) Right now I just have 3 jet
boats and a tritoon pontoon that I'll be selling.

Thanks
Don
