![]() "Gary Warner" wrote in message ... Bush was asked a very specific question by a member of the public he serves. He didn't say the question was unfair. He didn't say the question was biased. Sure he did...but he was diplomatic about it. If Bush was never asked that very question in a White House press conference, that lady would have never asked it. That's why Bush responded with: "That's what you're-- when they ask about making mistakes, that's what they're talking about". He didn't even just evade the question (as often happens by all politicians). Instead he basically told the woman that she didn't know what she was trying to ask, and corrected her about her own question. She was just parroting what she heard liberal pundits saying. |

![]() "NOYB" wrote in message ... No matter how you slice it, this American citizen asked a question designed to find out if George Bush can admit mistakes when he makes them. It's an important trait for a leader. This woman, no matter where she got the idea, felt it's a good enough point to ask about. And George Bush in effect told her she was wrong for asking that question. |

Regardless of the source of the question. Any answer confirming mistakes would have been taken out of context and been in an DNC sponsered commercial the next day running all over the country. It would have been political suicide to answer in the affirmative. |

![]() "WaIIy" wrote in message ... The question was stupid, it was stupid to Bush, it was stupid to Kerry. The question was stupid, a trap and nonsensical. I disagree. Every president makes many decisions every day, month, and year that effect hundreds, thousands, and even millions of people. They are certain to make some mistakes sooner or later. Being able to recognize and admit a mistake are the first two steps toward correcting the problem. And this president has shown a propensity for not being able to recognize or admit his mistakes. And even if I'm wrong about seeing it that way -- even if this president has NO problem in this area -- all he had to do was think of one specific mistake and admit it. He could not do that. It was not a "stupid" question. |

Point being, if President Bush really answered that question, it would
be an instant liberal attack barrage. Bush gave the opposition more ammunition with his lie that he hadn't made any mistakes, (or his inability to public admit making any mistakes, depending upon how you care to spin it). |
