*I* am also encouraging people to defeat Bush. By your
perverted logic, that makes me a communist? No, that makes you an asshole. Some people who lack the mental capacity to justify their own positions get really angry when those positions are challenged. I wonder if calling somebody an "asshole" for being on the other side of the political fence is evidence of anger? |

Is it acceptable to call someone "heavin" (as in vomit) for being on the other side of the political fence? It does seem that you have two set of standards, one for you, and one for everyone else. Rush repeats some crazy BS and you become very upset. You repeat some crazy BS and it is acceptable because the person was just asking a question. |

Rush repeats some crazy BS and you become very upset. You repeat some crazy
BS and it is acceptable because the person was just asking a question. The party who wrote to sftt.org complaining that the Fort Lewis bookstore only displayed pro-Bush, anti-Kerry books was making an observation that can be easily checked out by visiting the bookstore. Hackworth asked people to do just exactly that, as well as other on-post bookstores. It can easily be disproven if untrue- it's a representation of a situation that can be investigated. It hardly qualifies as "crazy BS", even if it does challenge you view that all is right or righteous in the Republican world. Rush Limbaugh claims that "all liberals want is a free ride at public expense and a country where we all bend over in Muslim prayer three times a day". That's a claim that cannot be verified, or refuted- simply spread and repeated by his many millions of not-so-bright, primarily conservative listeners. |

I think you missed my point, he asks questions that are easily verified, but
he never follows up on any of his questions to say what is the truth. If you only ask the question and don't write a report confirming or denying the allegation, everyone is assumed guilty just by asking the question. If Hack was really interested in knowing the truth, he would visit a few bookstores and ask AAFES what books they do stock. He would also ask AAFES to respond to the allegation before posting the email from an unidentified army wife. If he had a summary feedback on his questions, I could not find any on his web site.
