I have a 1979 Mercury 70 hp outboard. I need 12v power to power a

trim/tilt
gauge, so I need it to be hot only when engine is on. What's the

easiest
way to do this? There is a rubber plug on the front of the control box

that
has three slots ( looks like a small plug outlet).
Is this possibly 12v out of the control ? If so, is there a plug

available
to fit this?

Tom - I just wired my T/T gauge to the back of the tach so it'd only come on
when the tach comes on - which is when the ignition is on. I can't
remember without crawling back there and looking, but I might have "daisy
chained" a couple of them. I don't know if this is right, but it works.
