Late last year we purchased a boat(approx 2400 pounds) with a single Yamaha
300 HPDI. So far, and just over 100 hours, all has been well and no
problems.

During a recent vacation in the Florida Keys, a local mechanic, who was
working on a friend's boat, was going on and on about the problems he has
seen with this particular engine. I mentioned how we had experienced no
problems, he then indicated that the problems were more prevalent on bigger,
heavier boats.

Whether he is right or wrong, I am curious to know if the experiences of
others with this engine.
