Default Handheld GPS Recommendations

I bought a Magellan 330M about 3 years ago. It's been reliable and it does
what I need it to do. The equivalent model now would be the Magellan
SporTrak Pro Marine. It has basic highway maps and aids to navigation
charts built-in. You can add more detail if you want by purchasing
map/chart software that you use to download to the GPS' memory from your PC.
I bought mine from www.gpsonsale.com.

Have fun!

Thinking about asking Santa for a handheld GPS unit. What's the best
model in the $200-$300 range? Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Garmin always seems to get the best POWERBOAT REPORTS rating in comparisons.
My model 45 still works fine after 6 or 7 years.
