Hi,
I have been having a problem with the "clutch type" tilt on my 1978 Glastron with an OMC 800 motor. The motor is eaither hard to raise or the falls to the ground like a ton of bricks. I have had the clutch assy apart at least 100 times or more. Cleaned it put it back together and put it back in. Works for a while and then it stiffens up to the point that the tilt motor will not raise it again. Yes the tilt motor is brand new for the second time. Another $200!!!. The next time I put the assy back together there isn't enough friction between the plates for the motor to lift. Same amount of spacers, plates etc.. I have probably spent more time in the driveway working on this then using it. My question is has anyone seen a retro fit tilt assy so that the old tilt system can be replaced?? Any help would be appreciated. Kevin |
