![]() I was just reading a FB post from our friends who are currently in Exuma, Bahamas living aboard their sailboat, "Ring of Kerry". The government of the Bahamas has imposed a curfew and a quarantine on everyone, including those visiting and living on their boats. They cannot leave even if they wanted to. They can go ashore apparently for 90 minutes a day while maintaining social distancing rules. They can go to pharmacies and grocery stores only. So far the Bahamas only has 4 confirmed cases (as of her writing) of the corvid-19 virus but the concern is that the population is so small and the medical facilities are limited, so they are taking no chances. They are washing clothes in a bucket because all laundromats are closed. They have a high efficiency fresh water RA system, so they can take showers. Newest and greatest threat is they are out of beer and, unlike here in the states where liquor stores are considered "essential" ... they are all closed in the Bahamas. I don't think they were planning on all this when they set sail up here last October for points south. -- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. https://www.avg.com |
