“Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Schumer (D-N.Y.) had not expected the session to
be televised and repeatedly asked Trump to take the discussions off-camera. But the president allowed the acrimonious encounter to continue for nearly 20 minutes before kicking the media out of the Oval Office. ...” They’re evidently used to closed door and back room deals and can’t handle the wide open spaces.. nothing wrong with having the discussion out in the open. |

It was wonderful to watch Donald Bluster make a fool out of himself, over and over. So, when is MEXICO going to pay for Trump's wall? In the grander scheme of things Mexico is already beginning to absorb at least some of the cost of a wall. They are accepting more and more illegals within their country who would otherwise be in the USA getting financial aid and benefits at taxpayer's expense. They are also hardening their own borders to reduce the number of people traveling across Mexico and sneaking into the USA. It's important to remember that something like 65 percent (or more) of these people don't qualify for asylum status but they must be cared for, fed and housed while that determination process is made. It's out of control and $5 billion is a very small price to pay to reduce those who illegally enter and then turn themselves in to be cared for only to be found to be not eligible for asylum status. Forget what Pelosi, Schumer and other lefty politicians say and listen to the border control agents who deal with this issue on a daily basis and *all* agree that walls work. By reducing that financial burden and on ICE operations, those who enter legally at points of entry (which our laws require) are better positioned to receive asylum status. |

Studies have shown that the wall would cost but a fraction of what illegal immigrants cost the US. |

"Pelosi complained that their conversation had "spiraled downward," and she said the emphasis should be on "how do we meet the needs of American people, who have needs. The economy has -- people are losing their jobs. The market's in a mood," she said. Trump interrupted her: "Well, we have the lowest unemployment that we've had in 50 years," he said. That was Schumer's cue: "When the president brags that he won North Dakota and Indiana, he's in real trouble," Schumer said. "I did," Trump told Schumer. "We did. We did win North Dakota and Indiana." U.S. Senate seats in both of those states flipped from Democrat to Republican in the midterms, giving Republicans a two-seat pickup and Democrats a two-seat loss. Pelosi at that point objected to holding their conversation "in the public view." She called it "the most unfortunate thing." "But it's not bad, Nancy. It's called transparency," Trump told her..." By winning the Senate, all of the freshly elected senators will still be there in 2024 when Trump limits out and the Senate will be the ones to confirm nominations and judge any impeachment. |

Yup. Pelosi and Schumer were in panic mode. Kept looking over nervously at the live TV cameras while begging Trump to "go private". No! I think Trump did the right thing. Talk about it in the open so every citizen who is interested can see for themselves what these airheads are saying. After the meeting both Pelosi and Schumer went back to their canned, lefty spin of course when talking to the press. |
