For following court rulings?

In both cases the problem was sending SWAT teams where they only made
the problem worse. In the case of Waco, the local BATF office and the
local sheriff had a good relationship with the Davidians and they
could have easily did the inspection BATF wanted ... as they had done
many times before. These people had FFLs in there for years and was
in compliance with the inspections necessary for that.
This was according to the local CLEO and the local BATF guy.
Instead the feds promised the Davidians the frontal assault the people
there feared and planned for. The rest is infamy.
If they just wanted to kill everyone, why not just call in an air
strike?

Elian was the same thinking on a smaller scale. They may have needed a
show of force to deal with the mob outside but there was no need for a
SWAT team with body armor and machine guns to go inside.
A couple of ladies from C&F, maybe a deputy in regular uniform would
have been more than enough force.
As I said Reno spent too much time dealing with Colombian Cocaine
Cowboys where nobody would question her tactics to be effective at a
federal job.
