Changing cell phone companies and getting an Apple iphone 6sPlus. The 'Applecare' warranty is
$6.25/month with a $99 deductible. Anyone used this? I'm thinking it sounds like a ripoff. |

My wife has always had an iPhone and pays for the warranty plan. She has had to replace her phone a couple of times due to damage caused by her ... not a problem with the phones. I use an Android phone and have never bought any kind of extended warranty for them. I had an issue once with it, took it to the nearest Verizon store and they fixed it ... no charge. Don't know but at first blush it sounds like a rip off. I suppose it depends on what the warranty covers. If it's just to fix issues that may arise to the phone that isn't a result of anything you did, it's definitely a rip off. If it covers damage done by the user ... broken glass or a dunk in the water or something like that I guess it depends on how clumsy the owner is. My philosophy about purchasing warranty contracts is simple. I don't. If I buy something, I expect it to work as advertised and designed. If it doesn't, I'll return it if possible or I just won't buy that product again. |

Maybe I'll break down and ask my wife, who's owned one forever. |

Since she has lost one overboard in the boat and had a couple broken at work, it was worth doing for her. |

Unless you are super clutz forget the warranty. How long does it take to save the $100 bucks to repair a broke screen? |
