I disagree. I have no trouble keeping up with two players in a cart. Now, if it's just me and one
player in a cart, then he'll be waiting on me a bit - unless he's just a slow golfer.

I suppose it really depends on if the guys in the cart play "ready
golf". My guys play pretty fast and they complain that I only drive
one speed, pedal to the medal.
I agree there are plenty of cart folks who stand around scratching
their ass a lot, park the cart on the wrong side of the green and
don't go when they get in it. .

If you're by yourself in a cart, I'd have a hard time keeping up with you unless it was a 'cart path
only' day. We all play 'ready golf', but keeping up with two guys in a cart is not a problem unless
they are really good golfers, i.e. hit the ball down the middle each time.

It is not as important that you hit down the middle as it is that both
people in the cart hit in generally the same spot. You don't want a
hooker and a slicer in the same cart. We also don't waste much time
looking for balls that are off the fairway unless we are already
backed up. When they clear it is "drop a ball and hit it" time.

We honestly don't ask folks if they're 'hookers' or 'slicers'. Most of us aren't consistent enough
with our mistakes to get the label. I assume when you say 'fairway', you're including the mowed
rough. We normally do look for balls a bit, lost ball strokes add up.

A league of my own ;-)
I also have no problem "improving my lie", teeing one up in the
fairway or simply skipping putting out a hole if I am just going too
slow that day. Sometimes I get back on track on the next tee.

Ha! That's the kind of golf I enjoy. If I play with someone who takes it too seriously, it takes some of the fun out of it, at least for me.

We are always in a competition in the league. We are required to enter our scores in the Golf
Handicap and Information Network provided by the USGA, so we try to follow the rules. I'll have to
admit we take 'gimmees' when putting, but much of the reason there is to speed play. ;)

But we have fun!

I just like getting out in the fresh air and hitting the ball. If I
find it, great, if I don't I tee one up from where I wanted it to go
and hit that. (I don't always tee up on the fairway but sometimes I
do)
