Among other comments, the history teacher,Â* Gregory SalcidoÂ* (who is also a city council member) is heard saying on the recording: "... they don't have electricity, we all have night freaking vision Â*Â*googles and that kinda stuff, and we can't freaking control these Â*Â*dudes wearing freaking robes and chanclas (hahaha) because we have a Â*Â*bunch dumb (expletive) over there ..." Other comments heard on the recording include calling people in the military "the lowest of the low".Â* He accused them of joining the military because they had no other options, that their parents didn't love them enough to push them to a better education and job. In any other state in the nation I doubt this teacher would have any options for employment in the future.Â* What an asshole. He's entitled to his opinions, but those sorts of opinions shouldn't be expressed inÂ* K-12 classroom. On the other hand, you express no serious displeasure when your Donald Trump expresses horrific, hateful opinions about people. His "opinions" are very similar to those you have expressed here many times but I don't think you would preach them in a high school. Donald Trump isn't a high school teacher either. I am sure this means nothing to you but if you go back and look at the tweets or comments by Trump, they are always in response to some critical comment made about him by the left or a left leaning media or print source. It's his combative personality. Other presidents have demonstrated similar tendencies but the age of social media (Tweeter) has made it too easy and too fast to keep under control. Going back to the high school teacher: I think an appropriate resolution to his inappropriate statements would be to require him to deliver them again, word for word, at the Marine Corps Training Center in San Diego. Let him speak and then let the Marines express *their* entitled opinion. |
