I think that's pushing it. Done that when underway on a ship. When we
returned to port we were all a little ripe.


We had salt water showers on the ships I was on. You could take a
"hollywood" shower in salt water, then just a spritz in fresh to get
the salt off. We were under water restrictions but I never heard that
we were in danger of running out.

Our salt water showers (or baths) were an occasional swim call on Sunday
afternoons. Gunner's Mates would man the sides with rifles watching for
sharks.

Water hours were the norm. Even the water bubblers were turned on for
short periods of time. I guess the Navy figured you got all the water
you needed in coffee and bug juice.
