Like you, Fox has bought into the Trump bull****. MSNBC

what it

BTW, this wasn't his budget request. It was his proposal for
lowering
taxes. The rich still pay the highest percentage by far. It
really
applies to middle class individuals, Sub-S sorporations and
large
corporations as an incentive to base operations in the USA,
expand and
hire more Americans. A one time tax will apply for those
corporations
with their holdings overseas and then a 15 percent (as
proposed)
tax
thereafter.

This is very good for the economy of the USA.

Really? What about the deficit?

His Treasury guy (forget his name) claims the new tax rates
will
produce
something like 5 Trillion in revenues over 5 years. It's a
start.

That's hilarious.

Why's that? I can understand why it could. A robust, growing
economy
is the largest revenue generating source. Taxes aren't even
close.

Trump's tax cuts will simply put more money in the hands of the
rich,
weaken the country and further devastate the lower and middle
income
families. All that will trickle down is ****.

You best cover your head, Krause!

Harry's claims are pure BS. His claim that the House and Senate
investigations into Russiagate is being drawn out because the
Republicans chair the committees is pure BS as well.
The Democrats would be screaming bloody murder, especially those on
the
respective committees. None are complaining, probably because they
have
yet to find anything to complain about or report.

The slowdown has been in the news for several days.

Not making headlines that are noticeable. It's probably because the
liberal mantra change from "Russia, Russia, Russia" to "Returns,
Returns, Returns" is still in process.

:Uh huh.

Senate Trump-Russia Probe Has No Full-Time Staff, No Key Witnesses

The Senate Intelligence Committee’s probe into Russia’s election
interference is supposedly the best hope for getting the public
credible
answers about whether there was any coordination between the Kremlin
and
Trump Tower.

But there are serious reasons to doubt that it can accomplish this
task,
as currently configured.

More than three months after the committee announced that it had agreed
on the scope of the investigation, the panel has not begun
substantially
investigating possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia,
three
individuals with ties to the committee told The Daily Beast.

The investigation does not have a single staffer dedicated to it
full-time, and those staff members working on it part-time do not have
significant investigative experience. The probe currently appears to be
moving at a pace slower than prior Senate Intelligence Committee
investigations, such as the CIA torture inquiry, which took years to
accomplish.

No interviews have been conducted with key individuals suspected of
being in the Trump-Russia orbit: not Michael Flynn, not Roger Stone,
not
Carter Page, not Paul Manafort, and not Jared Kushner, according to two
sources familiar with the committee’s procedures.

Excuses, excuses. How about the FBI investigation? Is Comely dragging
his feet as well?

Hey, did you hear the latest? Rep. Jason Chaffetz announced he will
not seek reelection in 2018 in order to spend more time with his family.

Your hero, Maxine Waters went on the networks speculating that the real
reason is because he's a Russian operative taking orders from the
Kremlin and thinks he is about to be exposed.

I doubt that is the reason Chaffetz is leaving.

Which reason, Chaffetz's or Maxine's?

The rumor, unsubstantiated, is that Congressman Jason is about to be
"outed" as dirty in some way, possibly relating to bribes or some other
sort of graft. Or perhaps he wants to run for Senator. We'll know when
we know. As for Ms. Waters, I enjoy her outbursts...colorful and
colorful language.

Funny. The "rumor" ranges from bribes, some "sort" of graft OR maybe he
wants to run for Senator. That's quite a spread, even for an
unsubstantiated rumor. Then again, the current lot of Democrats in
Congress thrive on "unsubstantiated rumors". Just ask Maxine.

I know you won't buy this but I'll repeat again what my political
leanings are. I am neither a Republican or a Democrat. I've voted for
both in the past depending on what the candidate's views are.

That said though, I really am getting disgusted with the hypocrisy being
exhibited by the Dems right now. Pelosi is so confused and rattled by
Trump's daily executive orders that she can't enunciate her reactions in
interviews that make any sense at all. Then there's Maxine. I have to
admit though, she makes me laugh.

I stated before that I'll be the first in line to acknowledge I was
wrong about Trump's intentions if a Russian connection is *proven* or if
his tax proposals show that he benefits in a direct way at the expense
of us mere mortals. I happen to believe in capitalism as the prime
economic mover for the USA. Everyone at one time dreams of becoming a
millionaire. That's good because in the USA you *can*, given the
opportunity and desire. Many of our legal immigrants have demonstrated
that. They came here for the opportunity in most cases.

Programs and policies that depress economic growth (like those we've had
for the past 8 years) only serve to make people more dependent on the
government for their welfare. We are not like Switzerland, Sweden or
any of the much more socialist European nations and we shouldn't resign
ourselves to becoming like them.

Harry's claims are pure BS. His claim that the House and

Republicans chair the committees is pure BS as well.

Senate Trump-Russia Probe Has No Full-Time Staff, No Key Witnesses

The Senate Intelligence Committee’s probe into Russia’s election
interference is supposedly the best hope for getting the public
credible
answers about whether there was any coordination between the
Kremlin
and
Trump Tower.

But there are serious reasons to doubt that it can accomplish this
task,
as currently configured.

More than three months after the committee announced that it had
agreed
on the scope of the investigation, the panel has not begun
substantially
investigating possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia,
three
individuals with ties to the committee told The Daily Beast.

The investigation does not have a single staffer dedicated to it
full-time, and those staff members working on it part-time do not
have
significant investigative experience. The probe currently appears
to be
moving at a pace slower than prior Senate Intelligence Committee
investigations, such as the CIA torture inquiry, which took
years to
accomplish.

No interviews have been conducted with key individuals suspected of
being in the Trump-Russia orbit: not Michael Flynn, not Roger
Stone,
not
Carter Page, not Paul Manafort, and not Jared Kushner, according to
two
sources familiar with the committee’s procedures.

Excuses, excuses. How about the FBI investigation? Is Comely
dragging
his feet as well?

Hey, did you hear the latest? Rep. Jason Chaffetz announced he
will
not seek reelection in 2018 in order to spend more time with his
family.

Your hero, Maxine Waters went on the networks speculating that the
real
reason is because he's a Russian operative taking orders from the
Kremlin and thinks he is about to be exposed.

I doubt that is the reason Chaffetz is leaving.

Which reason, Chaffetz's or Maxine's?

The rumor, unsubstantiated, is that Congressman Jason is about to be
"outed" as dirty in some way, possibly relating to bribes or some other
sort of graft. Or perhaps he wants to run for Senator. We'll know when
we know. As for Ms. Waters, I enjoy her outbursts...colorful and
colorful language.

Funny. The "rumor" ranges from bribes, some "sort" of graft OR maybe he
wants to run for Senator. That's quite a spread, even for an
unsubstantiated rumor. Then again, the current lot of Democrats in
Congress thrive on "unsubstantiated rumors". Just ask Maxine.

Oh, these reports were coming from pundits on both sides of the aisle.
Actually, I thought one of the rumors was that he wanted to run for guv.
In any event, good riddance...he's just another harpy with no substance.

*Resign* ourselves to becoming more like Switzerland or Sweden? What?

From Wiki:

Switzerland is one of the most developed countries in the world, with
the highest nominal wealth per adult and the eighth-highest per capita
gross domestic product according to the IMF. Switzerland ranks at or
near the top globally in several metrics of national performance,
including government transparency, civil liberties, quality of life,
economic competitiveness, and human development. Zürich and Geneva have
each been ranked among the top cities in the world in terms of quality
of life, with the former ranked second globally, according to Mercer.

Sweden maintains a Nordic social welfare system that provides universal
health care and tertiary education for its citizens. It has the world's
eighth-highest per capita income and ranks highly in numerous metrics of
national performance, including quality of life, health, education,
protection of civil liberties, economic competitiveness, equality,
prosperity and human development.

Terrible places, indeed.

And an entirely different culture, being fairly homogeneous. Yes, they do have immigrants, but it's nothing like here in the US.

From wiki:
A series of violent riots starting with the 2008 Malmö mosque riots and including the 2009 Malmö anti-Israel riots, 2010 Rinkeby riots, 2013 Stockholm riots, 2016 Sweden riots and 2017 Rinkeby riots, during which immigrant youth torched cars and buildings and threw rocks at police, led many Swedes to question Sweden's ability to integrate migrants.[15]

By November 2015, Swedish willingness to accept large numbers of migrants "was petering out."

Seems like they had a pretty good little utopia going on until immigration of non-swedes started rocking the boat.

As is my hobby, I channel surf after a major political
announcement or
news, just to get a feel on how the cable networks
react.

So, after today's announcement of the proposed new tax
rates,
the
panel
on FoxNews were kicking around how it will help
individuals,
small
businesses and large businesses. The focus of their
discussion was
how
and why the new tax rate plan would benefit the
economy
overall and
create more jobs.

Switch to MSNBC:

Here the larger panel of pundits were focusing (and
speculating) on
how
the new tax rates will benefit Donald Trump. Period.
That's
all
they
were talking about.

Like you, Fox has bought into the Trump bull****. MSNBC
wants
to know
how many millions the Trumpsters will make off of this,
what it
will do
to the deficits, and how it will devastate what little
remains
of the
social safety net, science, enforcement of
anti-pollution
and
other
citizen safety laws.

BTW, this wasn't his budget request. It was his
proposal
for
lowering
taxes. The rich still pay the highest percentage by
far. It
really
applies to middle class individuals, Sub-S sorporations
and
large
corporations as an incentive to base operations in the
USA,
expand and
hire more Americans. A one time tax will apply for
those
corporations
with their holdings overseas and then a 15 percent (as
proposed)
tax
thereafter.

This is very good for the economy of the USA.

Really? What about the deficit?

His Treasury guy (forget his name) claims the new tax
rates
will
produce
something like 5 Trillion in revenues over 5 years.
It's a
start.

That's hilarious.

Why's that? I can understand why it could. A robust,
growing
economy
is the largest revenue generating source. Taxes aren't even
close.

Trump's tax cuts will simply put more money in the hands of
the
rich,
weaken the country and further devastate the lower and middle
income
families. All that will trickle down is ****.

You best cover your head, Krause!

Harry's claims are pure BS. His claim that the House and
Senate
investigations into Russiagate is being drawn out because the
Republicans chair the committees is pure BS as well.
The Democrats would be screaming bloody murder, especially
those on
the
respective committees. None are complaining, probably because
they
have
yet to find anything to complain about or report.

The slowdown has been in the news for several days.

Not making headlines that are noticeable. It's probably because
the
liberal mantra change from "Russia, Russia, Russia" to "Returns,
Returns, Returns" is still in process.

:Uh huh.

Senate Trump-Russia Probe Has No Full-Time Staff, No Key Witnesses

The Senate Intelligence Committee’s probe into Russia’s election
interference is supposedly the best hope for getting the public
credible
answers about whether there was any coordination between the
Kremlin
and
Trump Tower.

The probe currently appears
to be
moving at a pace slower than prior Senate Intelligence Committee
investigations, such as the CIA torture inquiry, which took
years to
accomplish.

No interviews have been conducted with key individuals
suspected of
being in the Trump-Russia orbit: not Michael Flynn, not Roger
Stone,
not
Carter Page, not Paul Manafort, and not Jared Kushner,
according to
two
sources familiar with the committee’s procedures.

The rumor, unsubstantiated, is that Congressman Jason is about to be
"outed" as dirty in some way, possibly relating to bribes or some
other
sort of graft. Or perhaps he wants to run for Senator. We'll know when
we know. As for Ms. Waters, I enjoy her outbursts...colorful and
colorful language.

Funny. The "rumor" ranges from bribes, some "sort" of graft OR
maybe he
wants to run for Senator.

I have relatives in Sweden. They will tell you that all you said is
true ... as long as you come from a family who *had* some level of
wealth or advantage to begin with. Opportunities exist, but not like
those opportunities in the USA which is why more Swedes have immigrated
to the USA than US citizens to Sweden. Yes, it's a nice place to live
but completely different in it's history and style of government.

My Swedish relatives own a large farm (over 3,000 acres) that has been
passed down within the family for over 200 years. They they don't work
it today but lease the farmlands out to local farmers. The main house
is huge and at any one time 3 generations will be living in it. When
someone in the family gets married, a portion of the farmland is lopped
off and a house is built for the newly-weds. My younger son visited and
stayed with them a few years back and had a blast.

The only difference between Palin and Waters is party slant and skin
color ... but that is all it takes for you.
