I already have a bolt the size of a Yamaha drain plug I screw in the
top hole when it is full so you can pull out the filler and put in the
bottom plug. It is easier than screwing with the little drain plug.
Once you get the bottom plug in you can do the top one a lot easier.



Sierra makes a filler pump that screws onto a quart oil
container. It's pretty cheap.

I had one but the pump broke pretty fast. The plunger came out. I use
a Dial body soap pump now with that hose stuffed into it. It works but
still not as easy is just having a pressurized vessel.

I had bought the pump for the lower gear oil in my Johnson 30 outboard.
Never bothered to try it on the Mercury BigFoot but this summer was curious about the lower unit on my MerCruiser 3.0.
Fits fine, but after reading the manual once more, found that there is reservoir bottle in the engine compartment for topping up....on the opposite side of the engine oil filler and the power steering reservoir bottle. Now it's really easy to check on all three.
I will get the dealer to do my winterizations as long as there is warranty on the motor. (5 years)

I think there is a external tank on an E-tec.
