I think it is because we are on vacation, trying to forget the world's problems and this is a very isolating thing to watch on TV. No war, no flood, fire or killing and no Hillary or Donald. This is just an unworldly place where outstanding athletes are doing impossible things and nobody is really fighting. They all hug when it is over. It made the TV something we were willing to turn on even if we were not really watching it that much. Occasionally we were riveted. You have to watch those little girls flying through the air. (even if Aly Raisman's Mom couldn't) ;-) I've seen bits and pieces on the news shows, but not on purpose. I'm just not a fan of professional sports, except for Major League baseball, which I also do not watch on TV. I can't get interested in baseball at all. It might be better if there was a clock. The pace is just tedious. Part of a good game's charm is its pace. |

Probably less of that in northern Michigan than sw Florida. 😄 -- Sent from my iPhone 6+ |

SW Florida has lots of baseball, mostly northern teams coming down every winter to train where it is not snowing and a ****load of other northerners coming to watch. A lot of times you can get a free ticket for the farm teams, just by buying a slurpee or a hot dog at the shop and rob. The real teams can still be seen pretty cheap most of the time. Way less than watching them up there. |

Loved listening to baseball in the summer on the radio when I was a kid. In the early 1950s, I don't remember exactly when, I saw my first major league baseball game *in color* at the home of a friend whose parents had *big* money. I'm pretty sure it was a Brooklyn Dodgers game...the Bums were my favorite team. |

Do they still broadcast? |
