Default DJI's Phantom 4 drone

This thing sounds way cool and the video quality is stunning. I'd
really like to get one but unfortunately it seems to be very closely
coupled with the Apple universe. I'm not quite ready to make that
jump yet but it's always nice to see the stock go up.

I knew of one of the drone which could track a person carrying a transmitter of some
sort. It sounds like this one can do so by 'imaging' the thing or person being
tracked. *That* is a hell of a leap forward.

Many of the better drones have a follow and/or circle mode which just follows the person flying it. That's been around for some time. This drone's obstacle avoidance and video imaging following capability are a big step forward!

Obstacle avoidance is what I need.

I hear ya! I have a cheap $70 drone with nothing but gyro "stabilization", if you can call it that. Outside in a breeze it's a handful, and I've landed in a tree branch twice. We have over two acres but very little grass, the rest is 80' Oak trees. Flew it out once, had to knock it out with a pole the second time. Fortunately it's so small and light it was not hurt at all.

A friend at work has an Inspire, which is a step up from the Phantom and is considered pro-grade. He's trying to talk me into coming over and flying it to show me how nice a Phantom would be. It's tempting.

I've had to get my plane out of trees twice now. Both times required a long line
(parachute cord works well) with a good sized lead sinker attached and several hours
of throwing the rope.
