This came from a friend. But I surely agree with this cooking idea.

Save a few bucks and don't buy it in the first place. We have a land
fill problem here already.

I've never bought it. I had some once at a buffet or something. Horrible stuff.

Like everything, it's all in the preparation. When I worked in New
Jersey we used to eat lunch at a Chinese buffet once or twice a week.
They had a specialty called tofu chicken which was really quite tasty.
It was thin sliced chicken in a gravy-like sauce with bits of tofu
added.

If the sauce and the chicken had some flavor, I could handle that. I wonder why the
tofu was added.

Perhaps because it wouldn't be tofu chicken without it? :-)

Supposedly it's a good source of low fat protein. I'ce also had soup
with small cubes of it which wasn't bad. You have to get the flavor
from something else, and it should also be warm. Cold tofu would
definitely not be high on my list of preferred foods.
