"Here in the burbs they provide a 96 gal trash barrel and a somewhat
smaller recycle barrel. They collect every week. We also have unlimited
yard waste pickup once a week.
Your stuff must get pretty ripe by the end of a two week cycle."

Well, guess our trash doesn't stink like yours but during July and August they empty our green food waste bins weekly because of fruit flies. In the cool and cold months two weeks is no big deal.

You're far from perfect, Johnny.
It's a fairly new law up here (since August 1 2014) that we are allowed one black bag and up to four clear bags every two weeks. This is to encourage the non conforming to properly recycle what can be recycled.

OK, but hopefully you get my point about using the biodegradable bags. If you put
them inside non-biodegradable bags, what have you accomplished?

I agree I'm far from perfect. There's only one person here that's perfect...according
to himself anyway. But, we won't go into that.

Biodegradable bags don't degrade in the land fill anyway. They break
down in UV light.
My solution is probably the most environmentally friendly and the tree
is growing like crazy. Nature takes care of it with no plastic
involved at all.

Must be smaller than 6" diameter, which is pretty damn big! And the bundles are not
supposed to be more than six feet long. Have to admit I'm very satisfied with the
trash removal in this county.

Lee county is pretty good too. We provide our own cans for trash but
they are looking at the 65 gallon Totes.
The trash guys take anything we set out there although the scrappers
will snatch anything metal, including white goods.
When I remodeled the bathroom, they took about half a ton of old tile,
stucco, drywall, wood and whatever from the demolition.
We already have the 65 gallon Tote for the single stream recycle.
I think they burn everything but the metal and glass tho. They do ship
a token amount of paper and plastic but I bet it isn't 10%. It is all
PR. Environmentally, burning it in our high tech incinerator has to be
better than trucking it 1000 miles or more to a recycle plant.
I judge that by asking, how much is scrap paper/plastic worth at a
local scrap dealer and the answer is zero.

I have no problems with the horticulture guys either. They say
anything less than 50 pounds but they took a 100# tree stump I wanted
a few weeks ago. It was too close to the curb ;-)

After Charlie they sent around claw trucks and took everything, no
matter how it was cut up. I filled up a whole 40' trailer and a bit
more.

They got rid of the single can and sort the recycle at the transfer station
about 10 years ago. We have a 30 gallon garbage and 30 gallon recycle tot
and a 65 gallon green waste tote. Food waste and Haden trimmings. Picked
up weekly. We could have all 65 gallon totes, but we Do Not generate that
much trash, as we do mostly fresh food, and little frozen prepared dinners,
and there are only 2 of us. We do pay heftily.

The last time I went out to the dump, they had dumpsters outside the
fence you could use for free. I suppose they think that is better than
having to pick it up on the side of the road.

Was at the dump 2 days ago. We get a free dump day a year. But had to cut
down my pear tree, fire blight casualty, and the annual tree pruning. Was
a $9 charge for a pickup load. Minimum charge.

Not here. But, I can't recall seeing trash dumped alongside the road on the way to
