Wait...there's still Neil Bush! So far, it appears the "other" choice is another Clinton who is probably more dishonest than the first. Let's be real here. In my opinion the most dishonest presidents since Nixon about things that matter were Reagan and George W. Bush. It's interesting that two of the most respected past presidents by ... John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan .. shared very similar views. Both reduced taxes to spur the economy which lead to solid solid economic growth. Both took strong stances with our enemies which led to international respect ... even by the very enemies that they opposed. Kennedy had his covert failures ... so did Reagan, but both did something far more important. They both created a mood of optimism and pride in most of the population (with some exceptions like you who will find fault with anything republican). You are right. They were both great speakers. They both projected sincerity and honesty. Teleprompter Barry should have learned from them. A State of the Union address from Hillary would be laughable. Fortunately it won't happen. |

Wait...there's still Neil Bush! So far, it appears the "other" choice is another Clinton who is probably more dishonest than the first. Let's be real here. In my opinion the most dishonest presidents since Nixon about things that matter were Reagan and George W. Bush. That could be debated forever. Meanwhile, step back and consider the forest rather than the trees. Under who's administrations in the 20th and 21st centuries has the USA enjoyed the greatest economic prosperity, security and global respect? Clue: It certainly hasn't been in the past 6 years. It certainly wasn't during the G.W. Bush administration. His legacy was was an economic, diplomatic, and military mess. Interestingly, you switched topics from presidential honesty to how wonderful Reagan was. There are those who say his administration's playing footsie with the Iranians and with Hezbollah and then, of course, with the Contras, showed how unreliable and untrustworthy the U.S. was, and gave Saddam Hussein the feeling that he ought to "do something" to further secure his reign against the Iranians and others by moving against Kuwait a few years later and therefore the Reagan Administration's actions to assist Iran set up G.H.W. Bush's first Gulf War against Iraq. I think Reagan knew what was going on with the Iranian scandal, despite his denials. I can't make up my mind whether "Dubya" really had any concept of the havoc, short and long term, that would result from his Iraqi war. That Bush is either the biggest liar of any president since, oh, LBJ, or the dumbest and most naive. Bill Clinton's legacy was an economic disaster, and did nada about ending war in Iraq. Fact is he waged war for his 8 years. |
