I called the number in the article and was told I wouldn't have to
upgrade to file Schedule D (after
a lot of whining and complaining). Next year may be a different story.

If anyone wants to call and bitch, the number is in the article. Might
do some good.

Doesn't Wal-Mart have some cheap software you could use?

He's complaining that the free or cheap version doesn't do what he wants?

heheheheh.

Not filing is free too, eh?

There you go! Simple solution.

Okay, here's a good example for you. Erikson made a smart-assed
comment
which deserves no reply.
Therefore, I have decided he gets the last word as far as any
interchange
between him and me. Who
appointed me the decision maker? I did. Simple. Now you can
understand.

Oh. You mean the last word from you. Now that you have qualified
it, it
makes sense.

I suppose you thought I was banning *eveyone* from responding to
Erikson?
That thought would be
illogical.

Well, that was my comment...that it would not be logical. You just
qualified your comment so now it is logical.

Boys, boys, I am not worth fighting over.

Funny, those are the exact words Mrs. Luddite used to calm down the
Sports Illustrated bathing suit models who were arguing which one of
them got to take you to the "No Tell Motel" for a wild weekend.

"Girls, he is not worth fighting over..."

That's just dumb.

Well, not if you're playing the suck up game.

I went to buy TT a couple weeks ago on Amazon and saw the reviews.
One or two stars. The reviews gave fair warning.
I'll still buy it because I don't use Sch D.
The walkthru isn't tedious if you skip most of it, and it picks up all
the info from my previous filing, and downloads most of the rest, and
files the forms for free.
It makes filing taxes painless for me.
If I still filed Sch D I'd pass. Not going to call and beg.
They lost a lot of customers with that "surprise" downgrade.
Walmart may get that business yet.

i switched to TT from Tax Cut because TC couldn't properly handle some rental property numbers.
Never thought of going back, but am now. I'll see what TT is asking for the Premier version next
year. I'm wondering if TC can automatically download all the carryover input from last year's Turbo
Tax.

But then again, $85 sure beats the hell out of many hundreds at H&R Block. If TT had announced last
year that they planned to do this, I'd not be bitching (well, maybe not as much). I can imagine how
****ed I'd be if I had spent the time getting the data into TT only to be told "YOU MUST UPGRADE".
Apparently that happened to a lot of people. Look at the difference in ratings for the 2014 Deluxe
version versus the 2013 Deluxe version.

And I don't think it was a software problem. Intuit ****ed up. But, I'll probably pay the additional
bucks next year.

Depends if you get a refund. The IRS lost my return in 2000. They lose
something like 2%. Informed me the mailing receipt did not count as they
did not know what I put in the envelope. So they put my accounts on
mandatory withholding. When we got it straightened out. I had a refund
coming on the lost forms. They sent letters out removing the withholding.
A couple accounts still withheld and it pretty much covers my estimated
taxes. So I need to file to get refund. So not filing is not free. Why I
Efile all now.
