If you live more than about 500 miles from the place where they actually recycle the plastic, it is a wash environmentally. Most of the plastic is burned in the waste to energy incinerator here, whether it came from the trash stream or the recycle stream. The only recycling that actually makes economic sense this far from the recycler is metal. Recyclers don't really want "dirty" bottles anyway like the ones I find floating in the water. I do wonder how Harry is picking up all the bits of plastic from the bottles he explodes. I can see him getting the big pieces but it is the little ones that are a danger to wildlife. Our range does not allow exploding targets. Bottles count? Our range is private and allows whatever we want. We don't shoot glass, though. Too dangerous. -- “My heart goes out to the people of Ebola.” Sarah Palin |
