I don't know but I suspect the Apple OS is no more "hack proof" than
Microsoft's Windows. In fact, I recently read an article that claimed
that Windows has become much more secure ... even more so than the
latest Apple OSX.

In the past the relatively low number of Macs in use compared to Windows
machines made the hacking not worth the effort. Lately though it seems
that both the iPhone/iPad OS and the OSX used in the computers are
coming under increasing attacks.

Apple used to be safer, simply because most businesses ran windows and
there was more out there worth hacking.
They also publish all of their application interfaces, to encourage 3d
party developers. Gates used that instead of actually trying to write
new software in house. If anyone wrote something decent, he just
bought it. Unfortunately being an open interface lets a bad guy in now
and then.

I get more adverts from friends iPhones these days. There are so many, it
is now worthwhile to write virus, etc. like Luddites wife, people keep
lots of valuable info and passwords on their iPhones, and they use the
phones instead of a dedicated computer.

Usually it never comes up in a "text only" group.
The only reason you would want to use HTML is if you are
embedding
graphics or scripts. If you are doing that you should be in a
binary
group.

Thanks...the paranoia in this newsgroup always makes me smile.

Ignorance is bliss.

Are you the official newsgroup prepper?

Sorry, but my computer operating system ain't the target yours is.

Tell that to Jennifer Lawrence, not that anyone wants to see you
naked.

So, are you a prepper?

Better than going through life unprepared and expecting someone else
to save you.

So, you *are* a prepper.

You say that like you think being prepared for an emergency is a bad
thing.
I guess that is why a little bull**** tropical storm is a "super
storm" when it gets up there. You get a little dust devil and it is a
"tornado" that rips up houses that were built to a 60 MPH wind code.

BTW you seem to be the guy with the arsenal and the giant generator

Preppers aren't "preparing" for *an* emergency. They are "prepping" for
the end of civilization.

As for our genny, I have it because the power companies up here would
rather spend the money for crews to repair the wires after a storm than
pay for the necessary chopping down of trees and tree limbs near their
wires.

You have the genset to keep your cpap machine running during an outage.

Have you tried this?

Harry has sleep disorders because of all the people he has messed with
