Interesting. Did they lose any 'copters while perfecting the system?

Don't recall if any Sea Kings were lost that way, although over the long 50 year service life many dropped out of the sky or were grounded because of various mechanical problems.
One was flying over my house for a couple of hours yesterday.
We have a base a few blocks away that is used for landings.
