Maybe in your little world.

It's a world where maybe only 1 of 5 people I know have a gun.

Watching you ask all your acquaintances, "Do you own a gun? Huh?" must be funny as hell. I'm a gun
owner, and I've asked maybe three or four people if they'd like to go shooting some time.

I think you're bull****ting again. It's getting quite commonplace with you.

Probably average for the country.
Don't travel in gun nut circles.

You have no numbers on ownership.

Nor do you

It's a secret per the NRA.

It is secret because a lot of people do not want to pay more for their
insurance, get bull**** from their doctor, worry about disdain from
liberal friends and worry that the government might come after them.
All you need is to look at the intrusive laws in blue states to see
that happening.

Oh. People won't admit to having guns? Funny how that doesn't happen
here in this NG. Must be "special" folks here.
If I owned one I wouldn't lie about it to anybody. Unless I was
breaking a law.

There you go! *That's* where our resources should be going - after those gun owners doing so
illegally! You may be smelling the coffee after all.

Course I'm not paranoid.
Funny my doctor never asked if I had a gun. Insurance company never
asked either.
Must be hell worrying about the doctors and the gubmint "coming after"
you.
And insurance companies.

Funny how gun nut paranoia overcomes common sense.
Talking about "proposed" laws. "Laws" that don't exist.

You don't have a problem worrying about other proposed laws that don't
exist.

Huh? Can't remember worrying about any law, proposed or not.

Laws that exist only in NJ and can be repealed.

So the law does exist. You get your panties in a wad about laws that
exist in Florida and Texas all the time.

You're the one worried about laws, not me.
I don't care if they outlaw guns, or erase all gun laws.
Just don't care for NRA thugs.

I think that's called backpedalling and tapdancing. A little of both.

How many politicians and organizations are attempting to put severe
restrictions on jewelry that contains a Tanzanite gem stone?

BTW, I suspect your wife is likely to be more correct than you.

What "severe restrictions?"
Background checks? Max magazine size?
How's that going? I haven't kept up.
"Severe restrictions" is like Romney saying he's a "severe
Conservative".
They've been talking about a shortage of Tanzanite for years.
Tanzanite will always be there - like guns and bullets.

We were talking about proposed "Personalized" firearms. I consider
that to be severe restrictions.

I don't know much about Tanzanite. According to Wiki it was first found
in 1967 and classified in 2002. Apparently it's only found in 4 square
kilometers in only one place on the planet (Tanzania).
I'd say that's pretty rare.

Try to pay attention to the threads you start. This is all about an
existing law in New Jersey and a proposed federal law that would make
virtually every handgun in America illegal.
It sounds pretty severe to me.

Speaking of handguns...

I got a box of "real deal" .357 mag rounds (as opposed to the somewhat
lighter Blazer aluminum case .357 rounds I had), and shot 18 of them.
Got 11 of 'em within the circle at 50 yards, and got close enough to the
center to scare it. The other seven probably are still in low earth
orbit (that's just a joke, morons...)

Wonderful sounds, even wearing earplugs *and* muffs. Recoil and muzzle
flip not too bad, thanks to the avoirdupois of the revolver, I suppose,
and the "rubber" grips. I wouldn't want to shoot this piece with wood
grips. Well, not often.

No, you misunderstood everything.
As expected, since your a gun nut.
This thread is about NRA thugs preventing the sale of smart guns through
intimidation. It's commie tactics.
Simple as that.
I don't care about New Jersey. I don't live in New Jersey.
Besides, they will repeal that stupid law.
Again , I don't care about New Jersey. Why do you? You live in Jersey?
The voters of New Jersey can take of themselves, I'm sure.
And I don't care about "proposed legislation."
That's no better than a myth. It won't happen.
Guns laws are less restrictive than ever.
This is about the thuggish behavior of "legal" gun owners.
Your crowd I assume. Wackos who make death threats against, and burn
down the businesses of upstanding gun dealers who want to get more
people shooting, sell more guns, and make more money.
You come up with the same excuses they use. Which is based in paranoia.
Not once have I heard any condemnation of this thuggery here.
That says it all.

The S&W 627 I had (5" barrel) had wood grips. My wife shot a whole box

she liked it. It was the first time in her life that she ever held or

Next she tried the 38 Special and then the Walther 380. When it came

Haven't tried wood grips. My .357 came with Hogue rubber grips, and I
bought the Hogue "Tamer" grips which look pretty much the same but have
a chunk of blue rubber going down the backside of the grip on the
inside. It definitely absorbs more of the recoil.

Yes, I'd believe he could hit this a couple times at 50 yards given
enough ammo!

What's the matter, Johnnycakes? Someone call and tell you there were
black people at the bluegrass festival?

What made you ask such a stupid question?

His racism, obviously.

Is he still attempting to keep his racism in the closet?

"Severe restrictions" is like Romney saying he's a "severe
Conservative".

The S&W 627 I had (5" barrel) had wood grips. My wife shot a whole box
of brass .357 magnum rounds through it. She didn't complain. Actually,
she liked it. It was the first time in her life that she ever held or
fired a handgun. She started out with my Ruger SR22 thinking that's all
she'd be interested in because she never liked even holding a handgun.
Next she tried the 38 Special and then the Walther 380. When it came
time to try to 627 she was all over it. Expensive tastes.

...and she probably hit what she was aiming at.

Not to worry, Johnnycakes...I'm sure someday you'll find a handgun you
can shoot.

She did very well. I later learned from more experienced shooters that
women are often very good at hitting the target due to their weight
distribution. Men are typically much heavier from the waist up and
holding steady aim can be more difficult. Same deal with standing with
your back against a wall and then trying to bend over to pick up
something that's below your waist (like a chair). A guy can't do it
without falling forward, but a woman can bend over, pick up the chair
and stand back up.

Haven't tried wood grips. My .357 came with Hogue rubber grips, and I
bought the Hogue "Tamer" grips which look pretty much the same but have
a chunk of blue rubber going down the backside of the grip on the
inside. It definitely absorbs more of the recoil.

I never felt that the recoil was that bad on the 627. It's a heavy gun.

The Smith weighs an ounce less than my .357, and that weight helps, and
so does the long, heavy barrel and full underlug, at least with muzzle
flip. The recoil, as I stated, is not too bad.

Shooting .38 specials through it is like shooting .22s in my Ruger
target semiauto...no noticeable recoil, no real muzzle flip. Plus the
..38 specials are about $16 for a box of 50, still overpriced, but not as
badly as the .357s.

Haven't tried wood grips. My .357 came with Hogue rubber grips, and I

bought the Hogue "Tamer" grips which look pretty much the same but have

a chunk of blue rubber going down the backside of the grip on the

inside. It definitely absorbs more of the recoil.

I only have one pistol with rubber grips on it and that's my .357, and the only reason I have them on it is because I couldn't stand Dan Wesson "Combat" (Why they call them that, I don't know" grips that came with the pistol.

It mad the handle fat and had a large flare at the bottom, it had nothing but an uncomfortable feel to it even with my large hands. So I swapped it out.

The 'combat' grip is the one on the left and 'standard' on the right.. You can see what I'm talking about.

Those wood grips are a lot prettier than the rubber ones, for sure.
Well, I don't know if they are actually rubber. Feels like it, but could
be a synthetic. Tried a .357 with rubber grips and wood inserts...not bad.

They've been talking about a shortage of Tanzanite for years.

Tanzanite will always be there - like guns and bullets.

Did you miss the posts on the proposed laws regarding personalized firearms? Or, do you just find it

easy to ignore pertinent information, a' la Krause?

Try to pay attention to the threads you start. This is all about an

existing law in New Jersey and a proposed federal law that would make

virtually every handgun in America illegal.

It sounds pretty severe to me.

And Krause used this as an opening to brag about his 'shooting prowess'.

Yes, I'd believe he could hit this a couple times at 50 yards given enough ammo!

The S&W 627 I had (5" barrel) had wood grips. My wife shot a whole box
of brass .357 magnum rounds through it. She didn't complain. Actually,
she liked it. It was the first time in her life that she ever held or

...and she probably hit what she was aiming at.

Harry is very heavy, especially above the shoulders.
