Golfing when the temp is in the 30's? Sounds a bit like the old-time
religious flagellation/mortification, when acolytes whipped themselves
on the back so as to prove their dedication. :)

Wat a tone setter you are. ;-)

What's the point?

Indeed, what's the point of golfing when the temp is in the 30's?

To enjoy the game and grab some exercise, why else? The rationale is the same whether temp is in the
30's or the 70's.

If the sun is out, like today, and the wind is not blowing, like today, walking the golf course when
temp's in the 30's is quite pleasant. The exercise keeps one warm. I usually take the windbreaker
off by the third hole. You should try it. Put on some layered clothing, a vest, a windbreaker, and
walk 6 - 7 miles. You'll be surprised how quickly you warm up.

Oh, some 180s ear muffs are a big help.

Go for it.

I need a bill on my cap for golfing, so those don't do much for me. When the 'bill' is pulled down,
the fuzz blocks the view.

It couldn't have hurt this morning, that's for damn sure. I had taken 14 strokes on the first two
holes. Par would have been 9 strokes. Not a good start, but I was able to find the balls in the
woods three times. Probably should have warmed up a little first.

I bought one in Gander mountain in Rochester, MInn in the late 90's. The
canvas one. I still wear my Fudd hat when it is cold. Great hat. Was
summer and was in a sale canoe for $10.

It makes the water hazards a bit less challenging. Shoot for the lake
and plan in getting an extra 40 yards on your drive.

(like the parking lot scene in Tin Cup)

Yup, as long as it comes off the ice. Sometimes the ball bounces into the far bank and comes back on
the ice. The lake at Greendale must have 25 balls on the ice.
