Bert, I'll be thinking of you as I bounce balls off the ice on #10! -14 here. Enjoy! Golfing when the temp is in the 30's? Sounds a bit like the old-time religious flagellation/mortification, when acolytes whipped themselves on the back so as to prove their dedication. :) Wat a tone setter you are. ;-) What's the point? Indeed, what's the point of golfing when the temp is in the 30's? To enjoy the game and grab some exercise, why else? The rationale is the same whether temp is in the 30's or the 70's. |

The exercise keeps one warm. I usually take the windbreaker off by the third hole. You should try it. Put on some layered clothing, a vest, a windbreaker, and walk 6 - 7 miles. You'll be surprised how quickly you warm up. Oh, some 180s ear muffs are a big help. L.L. Bean is having a sale on mad bomber hats. You could get one at the Tysons store and also check out a new Apple computer a few doors down. Wear the new hat *in* the Apple store...everyone there will love it. http://tinyurl.com/klv897c |

I was doing great until about halfway down the second fairway. My stomach decided to rebel. I borrowed a cart and made it to the clubhouse just in time. Got a 'sickness' rain check and came home, where I've been running to the potty about every half hour. Oh well. As they say in the Army, "**** happens!" "Yessir, yessir, three bags full" |

When the 'bill' is pulled down, the fuzz blocks the view. That might improve your game! :) It couldn't have hurt this morning, that's for damn sure. I had taken 14 strokes on the first two holes. Par would have been 9 strokes. Not a good start, but I was able to find the balls in the woods three times. Probably should have warmed up a little first. |
