Skimmers are the #1 suspect for a pool leak In inches, how much H2O are you losing per day? I am not leaking now but the crack was taking out about 1/5-1/4" a day. That is not a lot maybe 60-80 gallons but it was still a nagging problem. Several people in our immediate area have pools. At least one has a pool *and* an auto sprinkler system *and* an electronic fence for his mutts. Hardly a week goes by without a service van in his driveway to service his pool, sprinklers or dog fence. Especially the sprinklers and dog fence. Even though his pool is fenced, it is visible from the road. In the four years he has had it, I have never seen one person in it. ![]() -- There’s no point crying over spilled 4-Methylcyclohexanemethanol. |

I ended up filling in the first one after our kids became teenagers and wanted nothing to do with it. Our lawyer drafted a "hold harmless" agreement that he insisted that we have the parents of kids that visited and used the pool sign. Our kids thought that was wacky. Now that they have homes and kids of their own, they don't think it's so wacky. The two houses in Florida had pools and then Mrs.E. wanted one up here in MA. It will be the last. No more pools. |

I wouldn't have a pool up north. The season is too short and the winterizing process too cumbersome (mostly the opening). Up here, I think it would be better to join a nice club and use their pool. |

Our local county rec center charges a bit over $500 for a year's membership. Much cheaper than a swimming pool, I'd imagine. http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/r...c/lee-aqua.htm |

I also doubt Mr Ed would be welcome. He is my "lap partner" when we swim. Problem solved: http://www.workingservicedog.com/Pre...ceDogVest.aspx |
