Good news for middle America

Sen. Bernie Sanders was appointed to a Senate and House budget
conference committee to create a long-term budget plan by Dec. 13 to
avert another government shutdown. A member of the Senate Budget
Committee, Sanders said he looks forward to developing an alternative to
the stopgap, sequestration-level budget that Congress approved late
Wednesday as part of an agreement to reopen the government. I am
excited about being a member of the budget conference committee and I
look forward to working with my Democratic and Republican colleagues to
end the absurdity of sequestration and to develop a budget which works
for all Americans. In my view, it is imperative that this new budget
helps us create the millions of jobs we desperately need and does not
balance the budget on the backs of working people, the elderly, the
children, the sick and the poor, Sanders said.

Now, we need Elizabeth Warren on the conference committee.

Would have been nice if the Senate had done their Constitutional job of
submitting a budget for the last 6 years. I feel they should all be
arrested and go to jail for unlawfully taking their pay.

I don't think most Americans support the Zell Miller approach of blowing
up the government, Bilious.

What the hell is wrong with requiring the Senate to produce a budget?
Required by law for one thing!

Constitutional scholars in the White house think budgets get in the way
of running progressive governments.

The president submits a wish list.

The house writes the budget and the senate gets to vote on it or
rewrite it and send it back to the house. The senate has done neither.

So far this year, the Senate has offered to conference more than 20
times with the House. The House turned down every request.

How much Indian does it require to be Native American? My aunt was 1/4
Cherokee. My cousin got preferential promotion in the police department
because he was part Indian. How much was his life negatively impacted
because he had some Indian blood? He had the same basic childhood I had,
his brothers were also successful without the preference. To be an Indian
for tribal fishing rights on the Klamath River, you have to be at least
1/84th. Besides, Native Americans were just earlier immigrants. And they
killed each other with abandon also.

Ms. Warren is busy becoming "Washingtonized"

Not. She's got a moral compass that's not about to be corrupted.
She's not driven by money. She's driven by the best use of it.

Ha! Lied her way into college, stealing resources and respect from real
American Indians that deserved it...

What a moron! Speaking of respect, they are Native Americans....

Yeah, Native Americans were treated SO much the same as the whites who
pushed them onto reservations with deplorable conditions....

Was not a finer moment in our history. But the Indians push other tribes
in to places with deplorable conditions also. You think the Navahos and
other Apaches were living in the desert southwest because they wanted to?

Yeah, white man had every right to push the natives to their rightful

Look at any history of the Indians. Even with few whites around, the
Indians still attacked. Look up the Redsticks in south Alabama in 1813.
Was originally a civil war among Indians and since the American military
was in the area because of the War of 1812, they also started attacking
whites.

Yes.

Cite.

They fought for control of the area, dip****.

They were living there because the Sioux had run them off the plains. They
fought for control, as where were they going if they lost? The Mescalero's
hated them, so they could not go south, and they could not go north again
as they already had their ass kicked there.

Look at any history of the Indians. Even with few whites around, the
Indians still attacked. Look up the Redsticks in south Alabama in 1813.
Was originally a civil war among Indians and since the American military
was in the area because of the War of 1812, they also started attacking
whites.

Nobody claimed they didn't attack. You gave specific events, The Sioux
running the Apaches into the dessert southwest. So, I asked for a cite,
and you type some blather about Alabama!
