Please show the correlation between high school graduation rates and
children born into relationships where the parents aren't legally
married.

Pregnancy is a major cause of girls dropping out of school.

That's not what I asked.

The issue was unwed teen pregnancy, that is what was answered

Here's what I asked:

Answered, Kevin.

You didn't answer a damned thing that I asked, but what did Kevin ask?

Those are specifically single-parent issues.

Those statistics only address absent father cases.

No question they'd prevent non-rape pregnancies too, right?

I would certainly support giving Plan B away.
I am amazed that these right wing guys are against abortion for poor
people. It should be encouraged.

You make a 15 year old have her baby and you ruin 2 lives.

Right wingers don't give a **** about that. They're pro-fetus, not prolife.

Yeah, what ever happened to "Home Ec"? I guess it was too sexist ...
like "shop".

----------------------------

Home Ec was dropped in favor of sex education years ago.

The powers to be decided that knowing how to cook wasn't really
important but knowing how to .... well, you get my drift.

I've never seen one bit of evidence that Home Economics was dropped in
favor of Sex Education.

I agree. Home Ec was dropped because it was seen as sexist and shop
was dropped because it implied that everyone was not going to go to
college.
Now we have home makers who do not have a clue how to prepare
nutritious meals and think they need a licensed union electrician to
put a plug on a lamp but not a clue how they could become that person.

I don't know the shop classes you took but, the ones that I took in 7th, 8th and 9th grade
were invaluable in determining what I like to do and what I wanted to do in the future. I
even took an auto mechanics class and an electronics class. The one the served me the best
was the MIS class.

I bet I could find sites from the education establishment that say the
same thing.
Success in school is closely tied to a stable family structure at
home.
Follow a school dropout kid home and a dropout parent is going to open
the door.

"Supurious right-wing sites" is cute coming from Booger who posts from left-wing Communist
sites.

But they ONLY ADDRESS SINGLE PARENT issues. Herring children born to
"unwed" parents. HUGE difference.

Who do you think we are talking about?

For every Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, there are a million girls
raising their illegitimate child on the public dole ... alone.

Herring said UNWED PARENTS. There is a huge difference between "children
born out of wedlock" and single parenting.
