We used to have a couple of boat dealers who shared technical
information and even a mechanic here, and the latter published articles
that demonstrated his knowledge. Their identities were known. They got
little here but insults from assholes like your good buddy, who hasn't
even the balls to do so with his identity known. He's a coward.

------------------------------

Bull. Back when rec.boats was a decent boating newsgroup Jim
contributed appropriately and respectfully. He shared his knowledge and
opinions in troubleshooting problems others were experiencing and would
also acknowledge when he was wrong. It's tough to define a problem
remotely and not everyone can do it.

It's only when this newsgroup started heading for the crapper that his
tone changed. I think he's here now for the entertainment value, like
you.

-----------------------------------

Oh. Respect. This is a trash newsgroup, and is not a place I'd come to
for "respect."

--------------------------------

That has become obvious.

Harry spent the last 15 years creating his sewer to play in... not much
of an accomplishment really.

So, how's your girl racer doing so far this season? Any amateur class
victories of substance?

Back when rec.boats was a decent boating newsgroup? You mean, in the
early 1990's? I simply don't recall any posts by your buddy of the sort
you describe. I remember good tech info from the Canadian boat dealer,
the Florida guy who was a mechanic and wrote articles for boating pubs,
the guy who fixed old Mercuries (Clams something or other) and one or
two others.

It's funny that this is being posted in the fast foods article, the
point of which was completely missed. The article wasn't about how
teenagers are being victimized by their part-time after school fast food
employment, but that's the way the naysayers here took it. The article
was about how adults, the naive and inexperienced, are taken in by the
fast food outfits and told they can work their way into decent,
managerial level jobs when the reality is that there are very very few
of these, and most of the store-level jobs, even the so-called
managerial ones, still pay **** wages.

Notice that while I disagree with your points, I didn't insult you or
make it personal.

Quick question. When pluralizing a proper name that ends in "Y", are you
supposed to drop the Y and add "IES"

You are doing a magnificent job of walking over smouldering coals.
I hope you don't consider this as an insult. ;-)

No, just add an 's'. If you drop the 'y' and add 'ie' you've feminized the name, which may or may
not be appropriate, depending on the circumstances and one's ability to back a trailer.

Just what does backing a trailer have to do with femininity or lack of?

Harry's behavior is beginning to remind me of the changes we saw in
Skipper from Derby, Kansas before he went totally off the deep end. At
one time he had a sense of humor and could tell a decent story even if
slightly fictionalized. Towards the end there was nothing left but
bitterness and hate. Sad.

---------------------------------------

It could be frustration. I often see a similar attitude in many of the
left wing Democratic pundits that appear on the various cable TV shows.
It reflects an attitude that seems to say, "Hey, we won. We have a
mandate. We should be able to do anything we want. Those who don't
agree should just accept our agenda or STFU."

Reading his posts here, it's obvious that Harry is nothing but a parrot
of the official Democratic party line. Even his cute little phrases and
talking points are direct copies of those of the TV left wing pundits.
They must have an email mailing list of approved lefty positions on the
issues. When it comes to political issues and debates I haven't seen
any original or unique thoughts presented by Harry. It's all the same
stuff you see on the news.

He and his like can't accept that politics doesn't work that way, ergo
the frustration. bitterness, hate and name calling. The one I really
get a kick out of is the attempt to paint anyone with conservative views
as a "racist", simply because we have a black president. Give me a
break. That's the perfect form of prejudicial BS and is used only
because it is thought to be hard hitting and effective.

Thanks for the giggles. I've posted here a million times I don't think
this trashy newsgroup is the place to post anything original or
significant. It's rec.boats, the hangout of mostly right-wing
political wannabes and racists. What would be the point of writing and
posting something political that is thoughtful and incisive? As soon
as it was posted, the usual right-wing suspects here would misread it,
trash it, and insult the poster.

Carry on. The righties here have the newsgroup they want. I just read
what I read here for ****s and giggles.

No, you post OT political BS constantly. You don't "just read here",
deadbeat.
