Easiest, best in my opinion...

Way back in the late '70s my BVI buddy had a front tow hitch on his
Jeep CJ??..
the short rough riding version with the stiff suspension.
He always claimed it was great for launching boats.
Not sure if I can get one for the Highlander.

Strike that, not seeing a front one for the Highlander there, but look
around. Call U-Haul, they would know.

Any place that installs tow bars for pulling behind an RV should be
able to handle it. The key is to locate the right attachment points.

I wonder if such a tow bar would be available for the Highlanders, which
are front wheel drive auto transmission vehicles. If you had the
Highlander with only front wheel drive, you could tow in on an auto
trailer dolly, of course, but attaching a tow bar to the front of that
car...isn't it monocoupe construction? Attachment points would be a big
problem. I'm just speculating here.

Roadmaster makes a baseplate for that particular crossover SUV. Then a
custom receiver would have to be fabricated to fit the baseplate.

The bottom line model Highlander is a 2.7 liter front wheel drive, but they sell few of them around here.
I have the 4WD model with the 3.5 liter V6.
On the rear, they remove the two towing hooks and use those holes to attach the hitch.
There are also 2 tow hooks in front, but I don't know if a front hitch could use those connection points.

One call to a local U-Haul should answer your question...

If you can't back a boat, you aren't going to "back" it from the
front, either.

A "Highlander," won't haul a *real* boat.

Get a real boat, a real truck, and learn to use them.

He didn't say he couldn't back it. Seeing seems to be the problem with
foot and auto traffic...

Some folks actually enjoy small boats... They are still boats after all.

What sort of "real boat" do you have?

Doesn't matter. I'm not knocking someone else's choice of boat here, as
"bayboat" did. And you were among the first to knock that 21' Parker we
had. I see no reason to give you that opportunity again. Or the others who
do the same.

Our Highlander pulled the Key West 186CC with a Yamaha 150 just fine.

Of course, that probably wasn't a *real* boat!!

---------------

I have thought of putting a front hitch on my truck. Where I store my boat,
there is not a lot of clearance to turn the boat and trailer into the
storage structure.

I do not think the Highlander is a crossover. My wife's Venza is. The
Venza does not have a separate frame, where the highlander has a separate
frame like a truck.

Nope, it's a uni-body on the Camry platform.
