Something about them having hips and a lower center of gravity makes for a more stable stance. She had several bull's eyes at 25 yards with the 357 Magnum. Great. It's funny how wives seem to take to shooting quite naturally. My wife and I are going to the range this afternoon. She's wanting to try the Kimber .45 and the Sig P250 9mm. She thinks that P250 is just her size. We'll see how it goes. As to accuracy, the target she brought home last time had every round in the 'kill zone'! I won't discuss the center of gravity issue. I've not got near the courage you do. -------------------------------------------- I've heard the comment about women shooters a couple of times, including by the instructor I took the safety course from. It's why a woman can stand with her back flat against a wall, then bend over and pick up a chair without falling forward. A guy can't do that. Well, at least historically we can't. Maybe some of the modern hybrids are different. We got back from the range a bit ago. Great time. She loves the P250, which she'd never fired before. The DAO feature requires a longer pull, but the pull is easy and constant. She was not wild about the .45. But, I like that Kimber. What a sweet shooting pistol. Much, much better than the ..45's I was used to in the Army. Bad news was that place would sell us no .45 or 9mm ammo unless we rented a gun from them ($10). We didn't have to use it in the rented gun, so basically it just added $10 to the cost of a box. A box of 50 .45's would cost $32 plus the $10. I 'spect I'll have to keep checking WalMart every now and then. John H. -- Hope you're having a great day! |
