If you think the law is all black and white like that, you've never
seen a good defense attorney in action.

I didn't say that.

That is what got Martin shot

THE CROWBAR ATTACK WASN'T PART OF THE ORIGINAL STORY. IF HE WAS IN HIS
TRUCK, COULDN'T HE HAVE SIMPLY DRIVEN OUT OF HARM'S WAY?

That is a far cry from the original story..LOL!

If you were inside your truck you were not threatened. Your truck
might have been subject to damage. There was nothing to prevent you
from driving away. That sounds like you committed aggravated assault to
me. Good thing he didn't file a complaint.

But, but, but... harry did a nice piece of precision driving pinning the
guy up against the wall, nicely centered with just enough pressure to
hold him till the cops got there... Just like in the movies:)

Oh, I wasn't being threatened? Bull****. He wasn't carrying a bag of
Skittles and a soft drink when he came at me.

He also was not likely to be able to outrun your truck.

You were not exposed and you had the ability to retreat. That is the
test in Md. You can't "stand your ground"

It was a harrytale. That's why it has changes so much over the years...

My truck windows were open, and you have no idea whether I had the
ability to retreat safely. In any event, he was arrested, tried,
convicted and sentenced to 20 years. His girlfriend copped a plea and
got a much lesser sentence, but I don't recall what it was. His other
partner was also sent to the slammer.

HOLY ****!!! Twenty years for attacking a wall with a rolled up
newspaper! Total bull****, even if he had a crowbar, which the
imaginary perp, did not have... LOL! And the "accomplice" too, AND the
girlfriend!!! You are soooo full of ****ing ****...

As for Maryland, I've been told by law enforcement officials and an
assistant prosecutor that if someone forces their way into the house at
night and I shoot the perp, they are unlikely to prosecute.

Nope. Same. Shouldn't you be conjuring up another way you've been
victimized here?

Twenty years for perpetrating more than 100 home burglaries and for
being in the drug trade, moron.

You don't get much of anything right. I couldn't pin the guy against the
wall because his car was inside the garage. They broke into the house
and then opened the garage door and parked inside so they could loot the
house without being seen. I pinned the guy between the front bumper of
my pickup truck and the rear bumper of his car.

You should stick with your bull**** tales of being blackmailed, and your
claims that your business client was contacted and, while you are at it,
see if you can conjure up some more bull**** about your "racing team."

I think Greg missed the point that your truck/burglar adventure
occurred in Florida, not Maryland.
I am curious if Florida had the "stand your ground" statute at the
time this occurred.

I don't know one way or the other. I do know that even back then (mid
1990's) handguns were easy to get and it took no effort to get a carry
permit, because their availability was advertised on TV. There was a
local gunshop that advertised on TV. Southside Guns. The owner in those
days was a flaming ass whose TV commercials glorified gun violence.

The perp and his partner rented cheap apartments in town to store the
merchandise they sold from houses and, I suppose, to have a place to
"showcase" the wares to potential buyers. They used the cash proceeds to
support their drug business.
