And since she is a pro, what have her racing purses amounted to? In my first year as a professional writer for a major newspaper, my senior year of college (I was a full-time student and worked full time on the morning newspaper), I earned about $10,000 in salary, and this was back in the mid 1960's, as a reporter. Not much these days, but back then, respectable. 8th in a national series is pretty good, first time out... how did you rank in your graduating class. Top ten, if not, you got nothing to say to my kid... What was her net income? That is none of your business... As suspected.... She still has amateur status, according to Scotty, so her net cash income from racing would be negligible. She is not allowed to take cash... She is an Amateur.. Gifts, Sponsorships, etc only.. |

How did you do in high school again?? I did great in high school, and college. So, what was her income? None of your business. Odd, I've looked and looked at pro motocross rankings and income over the last couple of days, and there is no mention of her. Next you'll be telling us she races under a pseudonym, except you don't know what it means. Really, I am truly shocked that a parent would actually steer their kid away from an education. I'm sure you'd see it all the time in music and show business. People trying to get rich off their kids natural talents. |

What does that have to do with weather your parents were successful in helping you reach your goals... The word you want is "whether," not "weather." Had you gotten an education, you might have known the difference between the two words. My parents steered me towards being able to think for myself and thus stressed reading, writing, science, music, art, and having fun. My goal back then was to get a good education, not a job. It wasn't until my third year of college that I had what might be called a "career" goal of becoming a professional writer. Funny thing is, the spring of my junior year, when I was hired by the Kansas City Star to start working that summer, I was one of three new reporters hired, and there were more than a thousand applicants from all around the country. I know that, because the day the managing editor hired me, he took me to the board room and showed me the enormous stacks of resumes, and said the count was more than a thousand. Hell, I never even gave him a resume. I didn't have one back then. He hired me the night before at a journalism society party at which everyone got smashed. Wasn't until a year later that I learned he had "scouted" me at the party at the suggestion of one of my professors, who was an adviser to the newspaper's editorial board. So, how did your parents help you reach your goals? This, coupled with your last essay on 'ESADEA' (Esad's Educational Achievements) should be making Donnie cream his pants with the joy of being your only buddy here. ....if he believes it. Happy February Salmonbait -- 'Name-calling'...the liberals' answer to a lost argument! You know you live in a Country run by idiots if... You have to have your parents signature to go on a school field trip but not to get an abortion. So Johnny...you must be proud that another ex-military man is in the headlines killing 3 people. Not to leave Snottie out, the guy is an ex-cop too. Like I've said before all the high profile shootings committed by a person over 30 seem to be former military.......and there you are out shopping non stop for a handgun. Makes me glad I'm a Canadian. The guy hasn't been a cop for five years. And your pile of crap about over thirty guys....LOL.. I am proud you are a canadian too... |

Fastest bike in the division, best preparer in the division, best coach in the division...is there a national leaderboard ranking? You are not making any sense.. Well, you claim the fastest bike in the division, and you brag about your preparation and coaching, so my assumption is that if there is a national ranking of riders, it is up on line somewhere, and your kid, whatever the hell her name is, is on it. After all, if you go to the AMA SuperCross site, it lists the point rankings in the various divisions. So, is your kid on the national leaderboard? She is not AMA Krausie is really out for blood now. Do you suppose he is trying to divert attention away from his long list of shortcomings? My advice to you is clam up on him and leave him to play his game solitaire. Yup... he certainly doesn't have any hands to play here anyway... Let's get back to the task at hand. You think that it's not prudent to give your kids the opportunity for a college education. Instead you are banking on a VERY long shot of her becoming successful in motocross. That's just stupid and bad parenting. Hobby? Fine. Two of my kids did college, one has more paper than you, harry, don, and the rest combined... The youngest is looking toward going closer to 2016... |

I was a reporter, then a reporter-feature writer, and if I wasn't otherwise busy late at night (I worked for the AM editions of the paper), I ripped, edited, and marked up wire service copy for the foreign desk, and wandered up to the composing room to make sure my corrections made it into the early AM editions. I learned a great skill up in the composing room...how to read the type in forms upside down faster than most people can read rightside up. |
