We use a small hand label maker that embosses the letters on a srip of
colored plastic that has an adhesive backing. The width of the strip fits
nicely on top of the Lewmar stops. Every so often the adhesive lets go, so
we just reglue with any weatherproof glue.

My sister just got a used sail boat boat and the markings on the rope
clutches/spinlock are worn badly and she would like to use some type
of label maker to re-label them. Is this feasible? Any suggestions
would be greatly appriciated. I was thinking of having small plates
made at a sign shop.
