Maybe if the senate had not loaded this bill up with unrelated pork,
it might have had a better chance.

We didn't even attack the deficit with the cliff bill. They added debt
and kicked the can 2 months down the road.
When will the world simply stop buying our bonds? The treasury is
buying back 80% of the new issues now using money they create out of
thin air. That shows how soft the market in our paper actually is.

More likely, the House Repugnants were showing the people of a "Blue
State" that they really didn't give a **** about them.

This has NOTHING to do with Boehner's not even letting the House vote on
the bill, after promising Christie relief. He's a friggin' pig and
should have never been elected to head the house.

Sandy relief shouldn't include $5.3B to the Army Corps of
Engineers
(that's more than their annual budget).

Sandy relief shouldn't include $56.8 million for charting the
debris from last year's Japanese tsunami.

Sandy relief shouldn't include $41 million for eight military
bases
including Guantanamo Bay.

Sandy relief shouldn't include $100 million for the federal Head
Start day care program.

Sandy relief shouldn't include $188 million for new Amtrak lines
(not repair, whole new lines).

Sandy relief shouldn't include $20 million for a nationwide
"Water
Resources Priorities Study".

Sandy relief shouldn't include $4 million for the Kennedy Space
Center.

FEMA still has $5 billion in disaster relief funds that are
expected to last until March. So we do have time to get Sandy relief
right.

People who are yelling, "rush rush, we must do this without
thinking about it," are looking for a hand-out.

Dispute the facts? Didn't think so...

I just saw Mitch Landreu (Gov Louisiana) saying he is still waiting
for the rest of his FEMA money from Katrina.

People are fools thinking the federal government can do anything fast
enough to qualify as disaster relief.

It took the House 10 days to past a bill that started recovery funds
flowing to Katrinaville.

Perhaps the reason is that Boehner is an incompetent speaker, incapable
of leading his fractured party in the House. Of course, there seems to
be no one else in that party capable of doing the job. No one sane wants
Cantor. The Tea Party has pretty much destroyed the legislative
process...and that was its goal.

Yeah, especially when you have a dictator like Boehner who wouldn't even
let the House vote on relief.

You stupid little fool, how come your party, when they HAD A CHANCE to
vote on the bill overwhelmingly voted in favor of it? Are you saying
that your party likes the alleged pork in the bill?

Maybe if it was just a clean Sandy relief bill it would have sailed
through. It was the pork that stopped it.
