Gee, that's a different way to how we look at things.
In Australia it's called mates rates. Friends helping friends. If a sailing buddy needs help then, if you can, offer to help without sticking your hand out for $$ in return. The golden rule is 'as long as it doesn't cost you anything'. Perhaps Australia is one of the few places where people still help each other out??
