Ms. Soto sacrificed herself during the shootings to protect her
students, by throwing her body in front of the young children.

Other school employee heroines include principal Dawn Hochsprung and
psychologist Mary Sherlock, who, when the shooting started, ran into the
hallway to confront the danger – and were murdered execution-style as a
result.
