Over the winter I'm pulling the boat out of the slip for a bit, and am going to set it up for dual batteries (already have the second battery as a spare, just need the switch and cables). *I'm a lake boater, and have always wanted a fresh water wash-down pump.

How does that setup work? *I know I'll need a pump, wiring and hoses, but I want to just pull lake water from a pickup.

Where does that typically mount.

Underwater

how are they configured, etc.

I would probably attach a pickup screen to a pipe then attach the pipe
to the engine bracket or something else. But I would be reluctant to
drill into the pontoon itself. Select a pump rated for washdown duty,
hopefully with an automatic pressure switch.

* It's on a pontoon, anyone with experience?

sorry, no.

I think I would make some kind of permanant, but external drop down
style pump... Could be as simple as a small loop that holds the hose
up under the deck someplace, easy to drop down and feed the pump...
