The GOP leaders who implemented these laws keep admitting they intentionally did it within a few months of the election it effects to disenfranchise Democrat leaning groups (like minorities). If you want voter ID laws, at least do them right - start issuing them for free 8 years before you start requiring them in elections, and in all votings between the required one have the poll staff inform about these IDs and hand out the paperwork to be filed. Run some TV ads so everyone knows they're free, and do everything you can to make it easier. |
