I think it is a waste of time to get to distant places in a motor
vehicle, unless there are specific stops you want to make along the way.
We like driving the Pacific Coast Highway. Driving the Interstate
between the DC area and Florida is just something to get over with as
quickly as possible. We do like Hilton Head, the Golden Isles, Savannah
and Charleston, though.
Well of course you would think that there's nothing to see in between.
If you don't like the journey, why do you allegedly have a boat? I-95 IS
a wasteland, but did you know there are other routes?
If we are driving to Florida, I-95 is the fastest route. If there is
someplace we want to see along the way, we'll do that, too. But mostly
if I am driving to Florida, I want to get there as quickly as possible.
That's why we fly most of the time. We don't like long car trips.
Probably you do. You go your way, we'll go our way.
I'm not saying there is nothing to see "inland" in the Carolinas or
Georgia. I know there is. I'm not not a big fan of the south.
