If people want to curse the good Christians, then that really doesn't make them any different than the Westboro's does it? iLoogy tries hard, but he isn't bright. I don't read his posts here. I don't the WBC is representative of anything but itself, and I certainly don't think it is representative of the decent side of Christianity. But I don't believe that moron minister in Texas, Robert Jeffress, who does represent a large body of those who describe themselves as Christians, is on the right track, either. Pastor denies remarks against Romney were 'bigotry' (CNN) – A megachurch pastor and supporter of Texas Gov. Rick Perry stood firm Saturday on his stance that Christians should vote against presidential hopeful Mitt Romney because of his Mormon faith. "Those of us that are evangelicals have every right to prefer and select a competent Christian over a competent non-Christian," Robert Jeffress, senior pastor of First Baptist Church Dallas, told CNN on Saturday. Jeffress stirred controversy Friday when he told reporters at the Values Voter Summit in Washington that he believes Mormonism is a "cult." - - - It isn't reasonable to "mock Christianity," as you put it, because of the WBC, but what about the actions of Jeffress, his flock, and those Baptist Christians who are as bigoted as he is? Is that sort of behavior "Christian"? -- I'll believe corporations are people when Texas executes one. |

Just because they say they are............ That's a problem, isn't it? So many of many religions claim to consist of true believers and followers, but what they stand for is hate. My feeling is that if you are part of the "Values Voters" conference sponsored by the Family Research Council, you parted ways with Christianity a long time ago. Those folks hide under the banner of their religion to spread hate. I don't see how it is possible to be a social conservative and a follower of the teachings of Jesus. -- I'll believe corporations are people when Texas executes one. |
