Default Grounded? Try this

Went yakking with a buddy about 2 weeks ago as the tide was dropping on a
Hudson River backwater. I got grounded on some mud, and Steve showed me this
trick.
Take your paddle apart, put one piece on either side of the yak into the mud
and use them sort of like crutches. If you push down and back on the paddle
halves, you can lift the yak up and push it forward off the mud. Jusst be sure
to hang onto the paddle halves when you start to move. It worked like a charm.
My friend says he's also used this to float his kayak over low logs in shallow
water.
