Default Johnson outboard problem

Best advice here was to go back to your licensed dealer and see the owner.
Bring all receipts and explain the problems you are having. If you get no
satisfaction, then please post the name of that Marina or dealer.
I know of few dealers in Southern Ontario that are, well as the one dealer's
employee calls the owner "as crooked as a dogs hind leg".
Thats what the newgroups are all about. I would appreciate your comments
about bad dealers as well as good dealers. It is not slander, so there is
reason to bother. Like I said, there are too many crooked dealers in my
area, I dont mind, if fact I have to travel to have work done when needed.
What is it with these boat dealers anyway. I have only met two that I
thought were both reputable or honest and ethical. They retired. Now it is
watch out for yourself, buyer beware, and very very bad amateur mechanics or
having the guy who pumps gas fixing your motor.
good luck

Thanks; then it would be a logical explanation for the flywheel nut to be
loose.
You have been a great help.

Would there be any possible reason to remove the flywheel to trouble

shoot
the charging problem?

The stator under the flywheel, the circular component, is the beginning

of
the
charging system and also the ignition system.

When the charging system is faulty, it's a good idea to remove the

flywheel so
that the stator can be inspected visually for cracks etc.
